Haugen Pensjonat Svalbard is a small pension situated at Haugen (the hill) in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. The Haugen Pensjonat has 9 rooms on two floors.
Each room is 15 square meters and has a double bed and a sofa that can be turned into an extra bed.
Haugen is about a 10 minutes walk from the city centre where you find most restaurants, shops, pubs, post office, bank, hospital and other useful facilities. Longyearbyen is a small place which means everything is close by.
Historically, from the period when Longyearbyen was a Company Town, this was the area where the administration of the mining company was located. In fact, the Haugen Pensjonat strucure was originally used as offices. Other strucures in the same area were used as ex. the mess for the administration and living houses.
Today Haugen is an area protected for its cultural heritage.
