The twentieth Dark Season Blues will be held on 26. to 29. October 2023.
The annual festival is organized by the Longyearbyen blues club at the end of October, and marks the beginning of the polar night when daylight and sun are about to leave Svalbard for four long winter months. This period with its blue light provides a unique atmosphere and a great setting for the festival.
The festival lasts for 4 days and includes concerts at several nightspots, blues lunches and intimate concerts. There is also an arrangement in the school, in the church and even the kindergarten is visited by our artists. It all ends on Sunday night with a blues jam where the audience can also play along with their blues hero.
