Steinar Albrigtsen and Monika Nordli

Steinar Albrigtsen’s debut album, *Alone Too Long*, sold a sensational 180,000 copies 31 years ago. Now he’s back on Dark Season Blues alongside his wife and musical partner, Monika Nordli.

In the 1980s, Steinar toured Northern Norway under the pseudonym Stoney Albright, and he released the cassette *Stoney Plays The Blues* in 1985. But his official album debut was a pure country record. Since then, he has alternated between blues and country, with a touch of jazz and rockabilly. His most recent album to date, “The Daily Blues,” a commissioned work for the Notodden Blues Festival’s 30th anniversary in 2017, is a tribute to the greatest blues artists of all time. Monika Nordli, from Telemark, made her album debut with “Minor Mode” in 2005. In 2014, she and Steinar released the album “Sjelevenn” together, and in concert they perform both joint songs and highlights from their respective careers—spiced with humor and gentle melancholy. Joining them on stage is Øivind Madsen on bass.
