Elvis Presley sang «Good Time Charlie’s Got The Blues» 44 years ago. 8 years later, the band Good Time Charlie was formed in Bergen by Arle Hjelmeland (from Førde) and Bård Ose.

Ose became a radio host and a living music encyclopedia, while Hjelmeland kept the band alive with a changing roster of players. Over the last few years he has had Steinar Karlsen (guitar), Morten Skage (bass) and Einar Olsson (drums) along with him.

The «Spelleman» nominated album «Mojo Energy» in 2008 clearly placed the band in the «garage soul» genre, with a melting pot of intense 60s garage rock and the energetic sounds of soul music. Recently, the band has worked on introducing blues music to a younger public, with the concert concept «Jubelblues» and the albums «Draumeblues and blåsus» (2013) and «Jubel and skrubbsår» (2015). Last year they released an «adult album» – «Ready to Rumble». Here on Svalbard GTC will entertain both young and old.
