Håkon Høye with band

Håkon Høye has a background in the environment around the Oslo club Muddy Waters in the 2000s. In addition to his own band, Håkon Høye & The HoneyTones, he has been a regular member of the Billy T Band and Joakim Tinderholt’s band since the beginning, and he has backed countless artists in Norway and abroad over the past 25 years.

Håkon and the band have released two albums, “‘Bout Time” in 2013 and “Nights At The Surf Motel” in 2019. The latter was nominated for the Spellemann Award in 2019. Currently, he and the band are working on a new album planned for 2026. The songs on his latest album were written in collaboration with Oslo-based American William “Bill” Troiani, a collaboration that in addition to two Spellemann awards (Billy T Band) has resulted in several final placements in the International Songwriting Contest in Nashville (2nd place in the blues category for the song “Blow My Cover” in 2013).

Troiani is on bass when Håkon comes to Dark Season Blues with a trio that, in addition to himself and Trioiani, consists of Alexander Pettersen on drums. All three have a background in the Billy T Band. They are looking forward to presenting their tasty gumbo of classic blues, soul, Americana and garage rock to the festival audience in Longyearbyen. The three will also be entertaining kindergartens and the first and second years of primary school in Longyearbyen on Friday morning.
