Multi-award-winning John Németh was born and raised in Boise, Idaho and moved to San Francisco in 2004. He spent the next 9 years working with Anson Funderburgh, Junior Watson, Elvin Bishop, and more. Relocating to Memphis in 2013, he both honors and continues the rich legacy of the music scene in his adopted hometown.
Despite (successfully) confronting health issues the last couple of years from bacterial arthritis to a tumor that led to the amputation of his lower jaw he took home two more Blues Music Awards in 2023, one for his harmonica playing, another naming his “May Be the Last Time” the best Traditional Blues Album of 2022. He’s returning to Norway and Longyearbyen for the first time since 2011. This time he’s backed by Norwegian JT Lauritsen & The Buckshot Hunters.
