Jostein Forsberg & The Dark Season Blues Band (NO)

Jostein Forsberg is known to most as the frontman, harmonica player and singer in the band Spoonful of Blues from Notodden, in addition to his role as artistic director of the Notodden Blues Festival. Before Spoonful of Blues saw the light of day, he had the same role in the Norwegian pioneering band The R&B Express.

For many years, Forsberg has also assisted as a host during Dark Season Blues. At the request of the festival, he has been given the task of putting together a band of musicians to play at this year’s Dark Season Blues. Bill Troiani, Alex Pettersen and Håkon Høye from the Billy T Band were chosen. It’s not unlikely that several musicians from the festival will also appear. The repertoire includes well-known classics and lesser-known songs from the treasure trove of blues music. Expect a warm concert with songs from the catalogs of Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Big Walter Horton, Slim Harpo, Lazy Lester, Buddy Guy and Sonny Boy Williamson and others.
