Yngve & his Boogie Legs is a young jump blues/rockabilly band from Voss. They started as a Stray Cats-inspired trio with guitar, drums, and double bass in 2009. The following year, the trio expanded into a quartet with harmonica and guitar, and in the summer of 2011, the quintet was completed with a like-minded musician from Mandal on keyboards. Since its inception, the band has focused more on original songs in the jump blues and classic rock ’n’ roll styles, while also performing fresh interpretations of artists such as T-Bone Walker, Mose Allison, and Muddy Waters.
In the summer of 2011, Yngve & His Boogie Legs won the Union Blues Cup, following a series of tournaments across Western and Eastern Norway since the competition began in 2009. Starting in 2012, the band can be called
Yngve & his Boogie Legs are sure to get the party started, whether you choose to tap your feet in the far corner of the room or prefer to dance to the swinging rhythms of five men in suits in their early 20s.

Union Blues Band
Every year, Norsk Blues Union organizes a blues competition (the Union Blues Cup) at the Notodden Blues Festival. The winning band is awarded the title “Union Blues Band” and tours clubs and festivals throughout Norway. In addition, they get to record their own CD and even travel to the U.S. to participate in the “International Blues Challenge” in Memphis!
The winners of the Union Blues Cup at the Notodden Blues Festival in August 2011 were Yngve & His Boogie Legs from Voss. They are touring blues clubs and festivals under the auspices of the Norwegian Blues Union as the Union Blues Band in 2012. (The 2011 UBB winner was Pristine)
