The power trio from Karlstad, Sweden have played together for 18 years and have earned a reputation as a hard-working band. This has given them “free passes” to Åmåls Blues Fest every year and gigs in Sweden, Norway, Estonia and France, but they have never played at Dark Season Blues- until now.
The band was formed in the wee hours of the night, after recording Claes Nilsson’s country project “The Wheel”. The atmosphere in the studio was so good that they had an irresistible urge to play more and blow out a little, and that’s when the blues came. The band has always consisted of bassist Fredrik Nilsson and drummer Henrik Gillgren in addition to vocalist and guitarist Nilsson. The repertoire consists of blues with roots in Chicago and Texas with a rough Nordic twist, which gives the band a special groove. The Alabama Lovesnakes have released three albums with songs signed by Nilsson, and the feedback has been good.
