Amidst strong competition from bands from across the country, the Blue Collective was chosen the winner of Union Blues Band in 2014. This is what the jury said about their decision:
– The band has very good self-composed songs. These were words with meaning and they are in Norwegian. It is indeed a rarity to hear blues in Norwegian. It was a very compact sound – evident that you have played a lot together – and the musical level is high at all. There was good communication in the band with a lot of air. Remi is a natural focal point. He is a singer and guitarist with great talent. The band has put together a well composed set of good songs in order. The band has a bass player who is very visible, and has good contact with the audience. You are on the right path – just continue, says Per Oskar Olsen on behalf of the jury for Union Bluescup 2014.
