Many festivalgoers will remember saxophonist Jimmy Carpenter from Mike Zito’s band, which has performed here twice. Carpenter is perhaps best known as a sideman, but he has also released two albums in the blues genre under his own name. In 2014, he was nominated for Best Horn Player at the Blues Music Awards.
Saxophonist, pianist, and vocalist Deanna Bogart is visiting Norway for the first time. She is known for her virtuosity on multiple instruments, and she is also a solo artist with several albums to her credit. Don’t be surprised if the Detroit native gives a little lesson in boogie-woogie piano.
