Hanne Boel (DK)

With more than 2.5 million albums sold, Hanne Boel is the best-selling Danish female artist of all time. She’s still going strong with new albums and tours. After the critically acclaimed album “Between Dark and Daylight” (2020) came “Kopi” (2021), her first album in Danish. She has started interpreting classics from recent Danish music, but the repertoire for Dark Season Blues is likely to include material from this year’s album entitled “Norwegian Recordings” – ten songs with interpretations of some older songs, both her own and those of others.

For a number of years, Hanne has worked with her acoustic trio, the two guitarists Jens Runge and Jacob Funch, who are accompanying her to Svalbard. The emphasis is on sincerity, groove, strong harmonies and Hanne’s voice. They present a wide selection of well-known songs from the 80s and 90s mixed with new songs and reinterpretations of Hanne’s favorite songs – from the close and heartfelt to the slightly groovy and bluesy. One of them is Shel Silverstein’s “The Ballad of Lucy Jordan”, immortalized by Marianne Faithfull and now reborn in Hanne and the trio’s goosebump-inducing version. The concert in Longyearbyen will be the start of a long Norwegian tour with nine stops in January and February.he concert in Longyearbyen will be a “warm-up” for a long Norwegian tour with nine stops in January and February.

Kroa Saturday: This will be an intimate acoustic concert with Hanne Boel, with a seated audience. It is therefore especially important that you come to listen and not to talk.
