High Red

High Red has actually performed at Svalbard and Dark Season Blues before, but under a different name. In 2009, they were up here with Kirk Fletcher, and in 2011 as The Douglas Group.

With members from both the U.S. and Norway, High Red takes us on a musical journey from blues, through gospel, to soul and funk. Last month, the band released their debut album, “High Red,” produced by American Calvin Turner.

Individually, these musicians are brilliant, yet they bring out the best in one another through their excellent chemistry and a shared joy and passion for music: Iver Olav Erstad on Hammond B3, Hohner Clavinet, and Rhodes; Jon Reidar Furulund on bass; Per Øystein Erstad on drums; and Adam Douglas’ soulful voice and delicate guitar playing.
