Blues guitarist and vocalist Kirk Fletcher visited Dark Season Blues in 2009 and in 2015, the last time with Josh Smith and the Norwegian band High Red. This time he’s bringing his own band and the guitarist Alex Schultz.
Kirk has spent a lifetime playing. He grew up playing in gospel bands at church when he has younger and has since toured the world many times. He did a stint playing in the Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Mannish Boys, played with Joe Bonamassa and many more, and is now recognized as one of the most talented blues guitarists to come out in a long time. His seventh solo album Heartache by the Pond (2022) is doing well on streaming and has got good reviews. He says:
– I went back to my gospel and blues roots. I really wanted to make a blues album and sat down and let the songs take over. I’m a blues man and I write about life. Alex Schultz, born in Greenwich Village, New York in 1954, started playing guitar when he was ten. He has played regularly with William Clarke, Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers and childhood friend Tad Robinson and made his solo debut with the album “Think About It” in 2004.
