Taylor Swift’s second album, “Fearless” (2008), prompted Nora Legrand from Rauma to pick up the guitar in her teens. This led her to a music degree at the University of Agder and on to a specialization in bluegrass at East Tennessee State University. Artists such as Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Sierra Ferrell and Kacey Musgraves inspired her to find her voice as a songwriter in the great country/singer-songwriter tradition.
Nora shows an enviable versatility: From roots-rock and outlaw country to folk-ballads and stylish nordicana, the Nordic version of americana. Since 2020, she has released the EP “Devotion” and several singles before launching her debut album “Paper Sky” in September this year – rewarded with a five in Nettavisen.
Nora Legrand is a first-time visitor to Dark Season Blues and will be joining with guitarist Kristian Frostad at another venue debut during the festival, Polfareren.
