Sears Crossing, from Elverum and Flisa, made their album debut in 2012 with *Almost Full Play* and have performed at numerous blues clubs and festivals across the country, but have never played in Svalbard until now. They feel most at home in clubs with a close-knit, intimate atmosphere, where the mood is relaxed and laid-back and everyone is at ease. It sounds just like Dark Season Blues!
They’re probably closer to rock than to the blues, and like to call themselves pub rockers in the tradition of Nine Below Zero and Dr. Feelgood. The band has drawn inspiration from the best that rock and blues have had to offer over the past few decades: Albert Collins in the ’60s, Fleetwood Mac and the Allman Brothers Band in the ’70s, and Rockpile and the Fabulous Thunderbirds in the early ’80s. In 2015, they released “Get Searsed,” a raw and energetic blues-rock album featuring original songs and a powerful drive.
The band consists of Arnfinn Tørrisen (guitar), whom many will recognize from bands such as The Contenders, Roy Lønhøiden, and JT Lauritsen & The Buckshot Hunters, among others; vocalist and guitarist Andreas Holø (Powerful Stuff), Rune Mykleby on drums (Noise Pollution / Powerful Stuff), and Roar Espen Wagenius on bass (Roy Lønhøiden / Greasy Gravy).
