Spoonful of Blues continues its success with a new lineup. In the wake of the release of the album “Songs From Notodden Norway” (2023), the band from the blues town has played a series of concerts to rave reviews with new guitarists Øystein Ytterbø and Jens Fjelle. Jostein Forsberg remains the band’s charismatic frontman and leader, with Eskil Aasland (drums) and Tony Caddle (bass) providing a rock-solid rhythm section.
The positive response has opened up new markets, and in the spring of 2025, the band toured Denmark to sold-out shows and received invitations to return for another tour. In February of this year, they returned for a new and longer tour of Denmark. The band will gain more international experience when they visit the famous Sierre Blues Festival in Switzerland this June.
– I’m really looking forward to returning to Dark Season Blues with this new lineup of Spoonful of Blues. We love playing live and entertaining the audience. Every concert is a joy and a shot of energy for this band,” says vocalist and harmonica player Jostein Forsberg.
