Sweden’s The Kokomo Kings play a witch’s brew of roots music and rockabilly, deeply rooted in old, scratchy blues. After backing international blues artists such as James Harman, Mud Morganfield, Lazy Lester, Louisiana Red and John Primer, they decided to start a “proper” band and do their own thing. Over the past 13 years, they’ve played numerous clubs and festivals across Europe, and now they’re ready for Dark Season Blues.
The Kokomo Kings have been described as “more rock’n’roll than rock’n’roll”, with an energy level of 11. Their debut album “Artificial Natural” (2013) quickly gained attention, and the follow-up “Too Good to Stay Away From” (2017) was internationally recognized. German Blues News named it “Album of the month”, and The Blues Junction (USA) placed it as the fifth best album of the year. The band has released two more albums and a new one is in the works for 2025.
