We introduce the ever-so-slightly British-Australian “supergroup” The S.H.I.T! With the initials of Ian Siegal (guitar/vocals), Mike Hellier (drums), Roger Inniss (bass) and Rob Tognoni (guitar/vocals), the collaboration made sense. “The S.H.I.T! is about hitting the fans!” says Ian Siegal, who has 13 British Blues Awards, four European Blues Music Awards and three International Blues Music Awards to his name. He has released a number of solo albums, the latest in 2022.
Mike Hellier plays in Mike Vernon’s band, which visited Dark Season Blues in 2017. He has also played with Mike Scott from The Waterboys and toured with artists such as Mud Morganfield, Johnny Thunders and Sherman Robertson.
Roger Inniss served his apprenticeship as a guitarist for gospel singers in the local church. The funk/jazz group Weather Report hit him particularly hard as a young man, but he is also inspired by Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple and The Rolling Stones, among others.
Rob Tognoni, “The Tasmanian Devil”, has 40 years of experience as a guitarist and vocalist, and has shared the stage with Peter Green, Sting, ZZ Top and Bo Diddley, among others. His most recent album release is “Rebel” from January this year.
