Thor Lønning & Knut Hem

Thor Lønning and Knut Hem are both talented musicians with years of experience in the Norwegian music scene.

Lønning previously played in the rock band The Blackbirds, but has since focused more on bluegrass and country—including with the band Deadwood. He also plays guitar in Rolling Thunder.

Hem is considered one of Norway’s best dobro players, an instrument he plays in Øystein Sunde’s band Meget i sløyd and with Gitarkameratene. He is also the drummer in Reidar Larsen’s band, The Storytellers. Last year, Hem released the solo album “Almost On My Own” and also helped start the hobby band The Respatexans.

At Dark Season Blues 2013, they will perform as a duo for the first time, with Lønning on vocals and acoustic guitar and Hem on the dobro.
