Howlin’ Huskies is “our very own band”—founded by four miners who made their debut at DSB 2006 to a full house and thunderous applause. With cover versions of blues and rock classics, and a sound that echoes both the worlds of blues and rock, the band has played to sold-out crowds in Longyearbyen many times since then. Their rock style and carefully selected setlist always get the crowd moving.
It’s worth mentioning that members from here helped launch both the Longyearbyen Blues Club and DSB. So it was only natural to ask if it wasn’t time for a reunion at this year’s anniversary festival. And they didn’t need much convincing.
What could be more fitting than having the Howlin’ Huskies perform at the open-air venue in Mine 3?
