«Blues talk» with Øyvind Rønning

Over time, «Blues talk» has become a festival highlight, and it continues this year with interviews held during the lunch concerts at Kroa on Friday and Saturday. Once again, audiences can look forward to experiencing music and personal stories that truly resonate.

Øyvind Rønning has devoted most of his life to music. Already at the age of 15, he began writing about music, and for the past 38 years he has worked as a journalist and music critic at Dagbladet.

Since 2006, he has been an important contributor to Dark Season Blues festival and, for many years, has also presented his own concept, «Blues talk». Here, the audience get a unique opportunity to meet the artists up close, as Rønning interviews them from the stage.

Many describe these sessions as both intimate and heartfelt, filled with genuine emotion and candid stories from the musicians’ lives. Occasionally, the performers will break into a few songs to illustrate their points, creating an even deeper sense of connection.
