Big Creek Slim, a.k.a. Marc Rune, was born and raised in Ikast, a small town in Central Denmark. He traveled in the United States for a spell around 2008, playing music and writing songs. He now lives with his family in Florianopolis Brazil, in a cabin by the ocean.
Slim plays classical Delta and Chicago blues inspired by, among others, Muddy Waters, Howlin ‘Wolf and John Lee Hooker.
To Dark Season Blues he comes with fellow countryman Peter Nande (vocal / harmonica, etc.). Peter Nande, born 1968, began his musical career in the nineties, forming his first serious band, Nande & The Big Difference in 1998. In 2002 the band issued their self-titled debut CD, and ventured out on countless tours in Europe, also backing visiting american artists such as James Harman, Lazy Lester, R.J. Mischo, and Gary Primich. Peter Nande has a very positive and entertainment-oriented approach to his music, not least his favourite California Blues.
Peter Nande has received the award “Danish Blues Musician of the year 2007”
Backing Big Creek Slim and Peter Nande is Finnish Tomi Leino Trio, who also backs Terry Hanck here in Svalbard. Tomi Leino is a critically acclaimed guitarist and harmonica player.
