Daniel and Stig have been working together for 20 years this year! The duo has played extensively both nationally and internationally, astounding audiences with their tight interplay and distinctive sound based on Mississippi delta and hill country blues, New Orleans-inspired rhythm & blues and vintage rock ‘n’ roll. In 2019, the duo released the Spellemann-nominated album “Hustle & Flow” together with Vidar Busk.
By studying old masters and today’s heroes, Daniel has developed a distinctive playing style based on open tunings and bottlenecks. His latest releases are “Live at Cudrio Recording” (2023) and “Barefoot Among Scarecrows” (2020), the latter composed of three EPs. Throughout almost 30 years of touring, he has built a reputation as an innovative guitarist. This has resulted in nine critically acclaimed albums and two Spellemann awards, Notodden Blues Festival’s award and second place in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2018. He is originally from Langesund, where he after a number of years in Tromsø, has lived for the past 30 years.
Stig Sjøstrøm from Stathelle is an acclaimed and sought-after drummer and percussionist who moves seamlessly between many genres. He has studied classical percussion in France and traditional drums in Africa, taken lessons from legendary drummers in New Orleans and learned from “real” bluesmen in the American South.
